Allen, Jay Cooke Michael, was born October 16, 1927, in Paris, France, to Jay Cooke and Ruth (nee Austin) Allen, Jr., and entered into rest, Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at his residence in Oakland, Missouri, at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 18 days. He is preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Ridgely (nee Morison) Allen, (married June 25, 1949). He is survived by his three (3) children, Sarah Allen (Stephen) Wilson, of Morehead City, North Carolina, Thomas Ridgely Allen, of St. Louis, Missouri and John (Judith) Allen, of Long Island City, New York, three (3) grandchildren, Michael Austin Lhotak, Samuel Morison Lhotak and Kyra Elizabeth Allen, and many other relatives and friends. Jay was a devoted father and grandfather. He was a priest of 23 years at the Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis, MO. Michael Allen was devoted to the cause of Social Justice for the oppressed and the poor. He is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial service will be at the Christ Church Cathedral, 1210 Locust Street, St. Louis, MO 63103. Memorials to charity of choice.
