Ralph Gerard Marty

Ralph Gerard Marty 5/3/1959-2/9/2025 Ralph Gerard Marty, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on February 9, 2025 at the age of 65. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Christina, and his devoted daughters Cora (Chris) Marty-Farmer, Denise (Joe) Tuhill, and Justine (Josmar) Bautista. Ralph was a proud grandfather to Aaron, Violet, Joey, Jenna, and Lucia who will forever remember their wonderful memories of their Grandpa Ralphie. They were the light of his life. He was a much-loved brother to his 12 brothers and sisters (the Martys in Oakville, MO) and his in-laws (The Conners of Oakville, MO). He was an adored uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents (Donald and Dorothy) and his brother (Donnie). Born on May 3, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri, Ralph grew up in the Oakville neighborhood behind St. Francis of Assisi and was instilled with a love of soccer. His soccer team at Oakville Senior High School won the state championship in 1976 with Ralph playing mid-fielder. A cement mason by trade, he worked with Alberici Constructors for most of his career. Ralph had a strong work ethic and took pride in his work. He loved to pass on his knowledge of all things pertaining to constructing and building. He had a knack of watching over your shoulder to make sure you were doing it just right. Ralph was always tinkering in the garage and working at various projects. Building and fixing things for those he loved was his “love language”. Ralph loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, riding ATVs, and kayaking (always with a tootsie pop in his mouth as he floated with the current). The natural world was his sanctuary of peace and tranquility. Ralph was a mentor to many. He was a role model in being a gentle, kind, and patient father and husband. He was always willing to help his family, friends, and neighbors and was the definition of a good man. An eternal jokester, Ralph had a penchant for corny jokes conveyed seriously and coming up with silly sayings like, “That’s a bad hat Harry” and “that’s no gouda”. We don’t always know where he came up with them, but he loved to see his daughters roll their eyes at him for these. He is forever in our hearts and a twinkle from his beautiful “Arizona Skies” blue eyes will be with us always. A celebration of Ralph’s life will be held this Spring and a notice of the event will be forthcoming.
